Lamprey River Canoe Race
Each year the Epping Conservation Commission sponsors the Lamprey River Canoe Race in the spring. The race starts at the Mary Blair Ball Fields, a conservation area used for recreation in West Epping.
Canoe Race 2009
It was a glorious day for a canoe race this year! Great weather and a great turnout made for a nice day on the river. Thanks to all who supported us, including Neal and Verna and their grandchildren who have volunteered for years; Zampa Restaurant who donated first place prizes; Pam Tibbets of the newly formed Epping Lion's Club who brought coffee and donuts for participants; Rene Archambeault, Board of Selectmen's representative to the Conservation Commission; the Epping Police Department for providing road safety coverage; and everyone who particpated and supported the participants!
