1.                             CALL TO ORDER

 

Chairman Gauthier called the public session to order at 7:00 PM at the Epping Town Hall.  The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag followed. 

 

2.                             SEALING OF NON-PUBLIC MINUTES

3.                             BUSINESS

 

3.1                          TRANSFER STATION PERSONNEL ISSUES

 

Selectmen discussed the suggested pay and status changes for transfer station employees as found on the chart provided by the public works coordinator. 

 

Motion made by Selectmen Archambault to hire John Valencia at Labor Grade 1, Step 1, $10.23/ hour. Seconded by Selectman Gilbert.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Motion made by Selectman McGeough to make George Edwards a permanent hire and increase pay to $10.23.  Seconded by Selectman Sott.  Motion carried 5 – 0. 

 

Motion made by Selectman Archambault to move Ernie Stone to Labor Grade 1, Step 2, and increase his pay to $10.54.  Seconded by Selectman Sott.  Motion carried 5 – 0.

 

3.2                          USE OF TOWN HALL FOR BY RECREATION DEPARTMENT

 

The Recreation Department requested to use the Town Hall for a party after the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony on Friday night. 

 

Motion by Selectman Archambault to approve the Town Hall Meeting Room to be used for a party following the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.  Seconded by Selectmen McGeough.  Motion carried 5 – 0. 

 

4.                             CORRESPONDENCE AND REPORTS

 

4.1                          TOWN ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT

 

Administrator Shankle told the Board that US Representative Carol Shea-Porter’s office had requested permission to use the town hall for a public meeting on Saturday January 23 from 12:00 – 1:30.  The Board was concerned about whether the Budget Committee might need it on that day and asked Shankle to double-check when the budget public hearing was to take place and report back to the next meeting.

 

 

 

RETURN TO NON-PUBLIC

 

Motion made to return to non-public in accordance with NH RSA 92: A:3 II (a)(b)(c) made by Chairman Gauthier.  Motion seconded by Selectman Sott.  Roll call vote taken; each Selectman voted in the affirmative, the final count being 5 – 0.  

 

Board Returned to public session at 8:50.

 

5.                             SEALING OF NON-PUBLIC MINUTES – December 7, 2009

 

Motion by Selectman Archambault to seal the Non-Public Minutes of December 7, 2009.  Seconded by Selectman Sott.   Motion carried 5-0.

 

6.                             ADJOURN

 

Motion by Selectman Archambault to adjourn.  Seconded by Selectman Sott.  Motion carried 5-0.

 

Meeting was adjourned at 8:55 PM.
